Complex Construction Claims Strategic Lead – RISC | C&I

Are you ready to shape the future of complex construction claims strategy within Construction & Infrastructure? Do you bring deep technical expertise across multiple lines of coverage, claims insight, and the ability to lead high-impact client engagements from pre-placement through loss?

Our Construction & Infrastructure Group is seeking a Complex Construction Claims Strategic Lead as part of our Risk, Insight, Strategy & Claims (RISC) team—a differentiated platform designed to elevate client outcomes through integrated advisory, claims strategy, and technical excellence.

This role will be in North Carolina.

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As a senior technical and strategic authority on complex construction claims within RISC, you lead multi-line construction claims exposures. You bring together claims insight, coverage expertise, and client strategy to deliver outstanding results across complex construction and infrastructure programs.

You will operate at the intersection of placement, claims, and advisory, with a mandate to engage clients early, shape program design, and elevate Aon's differentiation in the market.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead the claims strategy and advisoryacross complex construction programs, spanning multiple lines including Builder's Risk, General Liability, and Construction Defect
  • Serve as a core RISC advisor, helping define coverage strategy, resolution approach, and claims philosophyfor key clients
  • Serve as a lead point of contact for complex, multi-line claims matters involving significant financial exposure and carrier engagement related to blocking issues.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise in coverage analysis, construction defect exposures, general liability, and Builder's Risk (including DSU and soft costs)
  • Develop and implement resolution approaches for claims with multi-line exposure, aligning legal, commercial, and client objectives
  • Engage early in the client lifecycle (pre-placement / pre-inception) to influence insurer selection, program structure, and coverage design
  • Integrate claims intelligence into program and placement decisions, improving policy performance and loss outcomes
  • Partner with C&I leadership, Account Executives, and RISC to ensure alignment between strategic intent and claims execution
  • Support high-value client relationships, providing senior-level guidance across risk, placement, and complex claims environments
  • Contribute to new business pursuits, positioning RISC's differentiated capabilities and claims-led approach
  • Provide clear, executive-level communication, translating complex coverage and claims dynamics into actionable insight
  • Drive cross-line collaboration (property, liability, SDI, professional liability) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support innovation through analytics, structured claim strategies, and program design enhancements

How this opportunity is different

This position is not a traditional broking or claims role—it represents a strategic leadership opportunity within RISC, where impact is defined by:

  • Bringing to bear multi-line expertise (property, liability, defect, Builder's Risk) to solve complex problems
  • Serving as a core differentiator in Aon's go-to-market strategy for construction clients

This role is central to how Aon wins new business, deepens client relationships, and delivers industry-leading outcomes in Construction & Infrastructure.

  • Deep expertise in Construction Defect, Coverage Analysis, and General Liability
  • Strong command of Builder's Risk exposures and claims (including DSU and soft costs)
